Technology Saved my Butt (Again!!!

Real Estate Attorney with http://www.medicalandspaconsulting.com

I have a diverse life...science , law and busniess interests can someitmes interfere with the ability to handle an emergency.  I was in Russia recently and I received an emergency call from a real estate agent. She needed a release of an IRS lien in order to complete a short sale in California. We needed it in less than two weeks.  The home owner was not going to receive any proceeds as the property was an astounding $700,000 short!!!

The home owner gathered the information that I requested. However, the IRS Revenue Officer had some questions and he requested a telephone conference and additional documents.  Two challenges...an 11 hour time difference and the need to have a conference call and exchange documents. Skype and Docusign bailed us out!!

We had a conference call with the agent, home owner and IRS Revenue Officer on Skype. We were able to transfer and exchange documents and we were abvle to outilize Docusign to get the reuested forms from the Revenue Officer executed and transfered during the call.

The story ended happily as the Release qas issued and the sale was consummated. A new home owner is happy and the sellers can now move on with their lives.

Aint technology grand? :)

Paddy,  Technology sure is grand.  What I feel is miraculous here is that you got the IRS to cooperate and get this done in less than two weeks.
