Important reminder to Colorado Landlords and Sellers. Colorado state law requires that carbon monoxide detectors be installed within 15 feet of all bedrooms. I am amazed when showing property how many homeowners have failed to install these detectors. For safety, detectors should also be installed next to basement rooms which may be used as bedrooms as well as areas where gas appliances or furnaces are located.
Our Contract to Buy and Sell Real Estate clearly addresses this issue....have them installed BEFORE you list the property. Be safe.
