This one’s got to be special for local Beatles fans.

On December 8, the 33rd anniversary of his death, a traveling exhibit of John Lennon‘s artwork and songcraft will be on display in Red Bank.

Imagine that.

Essentially a pop-up gallery that travels the United States, making about 15 stops of three or four days apiece, the exhibit, titled “The Artwork of John Lennon,” will encamp for three days at 21 Broad Street, the vacant former home of Agostino Antiques.

The show features some 100 pieces from the Lennon collection and limited-edition prints made posthumously to honor the singer and songwriter, who was murdered in New York on December 8, 1980.

The exhibit will be on display on these dates and times:

Friday December 6: 12 noon to 8 p.m.

Saturday December 7: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sunday December 8: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Attendees will be asked to make a $3 donation at the door, all proceeds of which will benefit the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, according to organizer Rudy Siegel.

John Lennon is one of my favorite artists, Sue!  I really have followed him since his first book came out with his artwork.  It was nice to meet you today, BTW!
