Atlanta Braves

It was reported earlier this month that the Atlanta Braves would be building a new stadium in Cobb County with the expectation for the start of the 2017 season.  The announcement has created a great deal of controversy and conversation.  This morning I attended the Cobb Association of Realtor Membership Meeting at the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.  During the meeting we heard from the Director of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce regarding the plans for the stadium and the impact it will have on the traffic (always a big concern in Atlanta) and most importantly the financing structure from the project.

We we assured that Cobb County Homeowner's WILL NOT see an increase in their property taxes.  The number of jobs that will be created during the construction phase and the daily operation of the facility once opened will be a great boost to the local ecomony.

Being a part of the organizations that continue to provide accurate information for real estate industry related professionals is so important.

Kathy I agree, I think it is a plus. I live in Johns Creek on the Northside so it will be much easier for me to get there to see a game. Plus having restaurants nearby is going to be nice. As a rental property owner with two homes in Cobb, it is nice to know the taxes will not go up.

Robert, I was definitely on the fence about this when I first heard the announcement.  Now I am on board.

Kathy,

It sounds like good things are happing in Cobb county a new stadium is always a good thing for the local economy as long the locals do not have to bear the tax burden of paying for the stadium!

Kathy, that really is a big deal. I remember when the Titans came to Nashville and we built them a stadium. A lot of the same questions here!

Yolanda I know that the biggest concerns were regarding an increase in property taxes.

Connie, it is a huge deal!

Kathy, as a former Atlanta resident who remembers when the Braves were a new team,, I think this is sad. But times change and I understand that most of the fans live in Cobb County, so it does make sense, especially with Atlanta traffic what it is.
