Big Forests and Wildlife in Taylor County Wisconsinwhitetail deer

Taylor County is a fairly wild area with large blocks of forestland with less quantity but often better quality game (i.e. Big Old Bucks) than some of our more agricultural counties.

The lands of Taylor County are near our Cadott office of Woodland Management Service which is now run by our Wildlife Specialist Jesse Kulesa and one of our lead Foresters Nick Crane.

Our clients at Woodland Management Service own a lot of forest land in this county and they are quite happy with the quality wildlife here.

hardwood forestTaylor County is home to more than 415 thousand acres of forest land, most of which is private land with the remaining 138 thousand acres being primarily on the National Forest and State Wildlife Areas.

Most of this forest land is Northern Hardwoods (Maple, Ash, Basswood) with over 160 thousand acres of Northern Hardwoods.  Aspen comes in second with around 94 thousand acres of this forest type.nick cruising timber

These forests are not only good for producing income for our clients but also great habitat for high quality Deer, Grouse, Turkeys, Bears, Wolves, and more.

If you are interested in purchasing land in Taylor County or if you already own some and would like to learn more about how to improve this land, give me a call, our Foresters and Wildlife Specialists can help.

Good morning Bob.  Wow....... You certainly showcased the Big Forest and Wildlife in Taylor County Wisconsin well.  Looks like a place Debbie and I would love to camp at.  NOT during hunting season :)  We do love to escape to mountainous areas and wilderness camp for some downtime from the city now and then.

Bob-It's been awhile since I've been walking around in wooded areas as in your photos. Looks like fun in a civilian type setting. Tough to get my mind around the size of the forest land in Taylor County, 415,000 acres-WOW.

Thanks for stopping by friends!

John, After working the Cibola NF for several years I do know of the great forest beauty of your area, always a nice escape during the summer especially on Mount Taylor with the cool air and persistent snowbanks.

Wayne, I am sure that in a non civilian setting these woods could be a little intimidating, and 400 thousand is about average for most of our northern counties.  Hope you get a chance to enjoy them someday.

So far I have not had a chance to get out of the vehicle in your area to explore the woods, but someday I will have more time when passing through.

Have a great weekend friends!

That is a huge area and those pictures are really beautiful.  Current owners are lucky to live in such an area and Bet there are some others with their eye on this wonderfully scenic area.
