Big Forests and Wildlife in Taylor County Wisconsin
Taylor County is a fairly wild area with large blocks of forestland with less quantity but often better quality game (i.e. Big Old Bucks) than some of our more agricultural counties.
The lands of Taylor County are near our Cadott office of Woodland Management Service which is now run by our Wildlife Specialist Jesse Kulesa and one of our lead Foresters Nick Crane.
Our clients at Woodland Management Service own a lot of forest land in this county and they are quite happy with the quality wildlife here.
Taylor County is home to more than 415 thousand acres of forest land, most of which is private land with the remaining 138 thousand acres being primarily on the National Forest and State Wildlife Areas.
Most of this forest land is Northern Hardwoods (Maple, Ash, Basswood) with over 160 thousand acres of Northern Hardwoods. Aspen comes in second with around 94 thousand acres of this forest type.
These forests are not only good for producing income for our clients but also great habitat for high quality Deer, Grouse, Turkeys, Bears, Wolves, and more.
If you are interested in purchasing land in Taylor County or if you already own some and would like to learn more about how to improve this land, give me a call, our Foresters and Wildlife Specialists can help.
