Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Properties

Thanks to ActiveRain University, and Bob Stewart, I learned way back how to write specific ways to come up on the front page of Google. I am now right behind and  second only to Trulia, passing all others from larger websites.  I passed, and every other Realtor, thanks to what I learned in ActiveRain University.  No other Realtor in the area can say this!

This post isn't meant to attract consumers, but letting you know how you can be found on the first page of Google.  You have to be found on Google, as well other places people  search, Social Media is a major place, as well as all the other places they are searching.

Is your AR blog going to Facebook?  My business page  points them to me, flowing to other social media sites, putting my name out to the masses.  We never know where people are searching to find something they want.  I want to be there, I want to be where the action is!

Sadly, I see many posting daily to their AR blog, I like seeing their posts each day, wishing their main goal was to reach consumers, not just to write a post, but in a way to reach the most important people, consumers searching on the Internet.

Recently I received a call asking which restaurants where serving Thanksgiving Dinner.  I knew hadn't posted my Thanksgiving post, and I knew it came from my post last year.

I received two other calls this week asking where they could get information about "Toys for Tots and Helping Hands".  I looked up the information, and called them right back.  Likely these won't result in a sale, but it keeps my name up there.

My blog is a success, as I am now the "go to person" to contact.

I liked getting the calls, as it cements that I am the local expert to contact, the person to call regarding whatever they are looking for.

It is easy to be the go to person in your area, once you learn how to write in a way to reach consumers wherever they are.  You goal should be to be the first person they call, because they found you on the Internet.

It's easy to do, you are always post daily, now just change your focus in a way to rise to the top so you will be the first one they pull up, not by your name, but how people will be searching.  I owe it all to ActiveRain University, and Bob Stewart, and it can happen to you.

By the way, I know I said this wasn't about business, but I couldn't help but add a few links at the bottom, pointing to  anyone wanting to move here.  This is not the way I would write in my other posts. Be sure to hit the SPELL button because it will forever be seen on the Internet.  I recently wrote a post quickly, and put it out there, but one of my favorite persons, emailed me to check my spelling.

 Hi Barbara,

Good news to be at the top of Google. I have been there thanks to the high rankings of the Active Rain posts for years now. Google reps call me and say they can't find me when they look for me. i tell them how and I'm all over the place.

Crazy what they say to get you to spend money with them.

Have a great day and Thanksgiving in Rockwall Texas.

Best, Clint McKie

You are absolutely right.  We NEVER know where a consumer is searching.

I've focused on Google since it went online and I discovered SEARCH!

So far, I've seen nothing that equals it in customer search.

I'm signing up today for AR University.  I've taken classes before, but it's been awhile.  Need a refresher.

Great advice Barbara; the customers are always searching! You are right about the questions from posts done years ago relating to local places and events - those are always fun!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Roger, thanks!  We all learn, and continue learning as the market changes.

Bobbie, this is a wonderful time to be in real estate, with our markets HOT after a few lean years.

Clint, I like being easy to find; however there are a few drawbacks when people call saying saw one of my listings, and when I tell them about the property, then they tell me the real reason they call - to sell me something.  Too bad we can block calls as I do on emails.

Donald, Thanksgiving is my second favorite, right after Christmas.

Lenn, it is true that it all about be easy to find.  Google has been a major factor for me, although I am on other search engines, but nothing compares to Google.

Cindy, good for you, it is likely to go back, I try to go to the boot camp whenever I can.  It is only an hour, and often comes at the time of day I can take a break.  See you at the top of Google!  We will likely be online at the same time.

Corey, thanks for your comment, and enjoy the holiday!

Tom, our posts have long legs, resulting in calls from past years, and I think that is pretty cool!

Good morning, thanks for stopping by - yes, 2013 is going to be a great year, as most of our areas are experiencing a hot market.

Hope you and Delores are warm, and out doing the things you like to do, of course with your camera in your hand.
