Fifty Years Ago and I can still remember!

Fifty Years Ago and I can still remember!  My family moved to Arlington, Virginia at the end of 1959 and we bought a home just off Arlington Ridge Road about ten minutes from downtown Washington, D.C.  In 1963, I was in the sixth grade and on November 22nd, I was home sick with a very bad cold.  The television was on and I believe my Aunt Hazel was watching her favorite soap opera "As The World Turns" when the program was interrupted with the announcement that our President, John F. Kennedy, had been shot.  We, along with our entire nation, went into shock. The days, weeks and months of mourning that followed....very much a loss of innocence.
