Major Brokerage comes out against AgentMatch

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage 531132

Keller Williams appears to be the first major brokerage to come out strongly again the AgentMatch Beta being conducted by Realtor.com. They have even taken the step to advise their agents to oppose the rating system.

You can read the entire article from Inman News here.

It certainly looks like a grassroots effort is beginning, to influence individual MLS's across the country not to participate.

Personally, I think this is a fantastic development, and I hope to see other major brokerages follow suit.

I have asked Realtor.Com not to send me anything else via-email until they stop the madness. I will do what I can and hope that everyone else does too!

I actually haven't seen much about it and haven't heard any scuttlebutt about it locally.  Definitely going to have to check into it.

Rich...

KW has a ton of agents and I believe that they are all members of NAR so this is very interesting news!

Hi Richard, While I have been with RE/MAX going on 25 years, I have the greatest respect for the way Keller Williams agents practice in the profession and when they openly oppose this hair brained idea, it speeks volumes.

This is good news - though it doesn't affect me directly, those who have raised objections seem to have some very valid ones.  Hope KW starts an industry wide trend with this.

I write a blog about this a few days ago where I shared the type of complaints I've heard from different agents. I haven't heard anyone come out for it. I'm gals my KW is standing firm against it. It will be interesting to see if anyone else does.

....Experience Isn't Expensive.... It's Priceless!

Hello Richard,

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out and if other brokerages join in the fight against AgentMatch.

I do have to wonder what NAR is thinking.   This should be interesting to watch play out and certainly I don't see the value for consumers when there are so many variables play into selecting a Realtor® to sell your home.

Other than as a means to create a clever (in Realtor.com's mind) marketing tool to attract viewers, this whole agent ranking just doesn't make sense.  As Cindy above said, there are too many variables to consider (on both the agent and client sides) to use some simple mathematic equation to ensure a blissful match.

Rich  In my opinion, NAR "sold the farm" lomg ago when they allowed realtor.com to control the name realtor on the web.  It does not serve the public well

NAR continues to work against the interests of its Members.  They are becoming annoying and irrelevant.

Good to hear. If more large companies come out against this, it won't last, in my humble opinion.
