Too many, too young. A grateful nation will never forget. Always a sad day for Americans.
Photo taken from the deck of the USS Missouri from my 2002 visit to Hawaii.
I could see oil leaking from the ship, even in 2002, over 60 years after it was sunk. The ship is just below the water surface, having the superstructure cut away and leaving just from the main deck to the keel. It is a cemetery, a very sad and solemn place. The names of the dead are listed inside this structure. You see the names of brothers listed together on the wall.
Nearby is the USS Bowfin, submarine
