Dock built in a rock

This week while showing my listing at 1460 Jackson Corners Road, Red Hook NY, a property with water frontage,  I walked down to an area with a rock mass.  Now that the leaves are down the dock built into the rock was very visible. I couldn't help thinking that This dock is not going anywhere, it is solid. Like the dock, the house too is built on a rock mass

The dock in the summer

In the summer the dock is a popular spot, a place to launch a kayak.  It is also a favorite spot for casual dining,

I am sure many with less fortified docks would envy this one.

This dock is not going anywhere

Jennifer this put a different meaning on the Bible verse that instructs us to build our house on the Rock.

This is so lovely to have this dock. Whoever bought the house with this water front ~ would definitely enjoy it at any time of the year for many years to come.
