Greenwood Neighborhood Homes for Sale in Fort Pierce

If you are looking to purchase a home in a friendly and "Old Florida" style neighborhood, take a look at the Greenwood Neighborhood Homes for Sale in Fort Pierce.

The Greenwood neighborhood has many lush native trees, with spanish moss on the mature oaks, and bougainvillea sprawling over fences. The homes are spacious Florida style one level homes, or there are also two story homes with plenty of room for the kids, pets or in-law suite. Many of the homes have spanish influences with arched entries and windows, and wrought iron touches. The entire neighborhood of 49 homes is enclosed with a stucco privacy wall, however it is not a gated community. The neighborhood has one road that circles around, and it is named Greenwood Drive.

Most of the homes were built in the 1960's and 70's, so have had renovations. There are no cookie cutter homes here, as every home is unique.  Many homes have inground pools, and a few have an extra building that is either a guest house or additional storage. Most of the homes have ample square footage, with several having separate master suites on one end of the home, with the additional 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms on the other side. Homeowner pride is evident as you drive through the neighborhood.

Real estate values in this area have seemed to stabilize and are slowly climbing upwards. The most recent sale, as of this writing was a two story home with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, plus a pool, that sold for its asking price of $135,000. It was completely refurbished. This past Summer, a 4 bedroom, 3 bath home with a seperate guest house sold for $169,900. There are currently no homes for sale that were listed for sale on the local Realtors mls, or that I could readily determine by any other means- FSBO signs, etc.

The Greenwood neighborhood is in a great, central location in south Fort Pierce. Just west of Sunrise Blvd, and north of Edwards Rd, it is convenient to shopping, restaurants, and schools. The natural and pristine beaches of Fort Pierce are a 15 minute drive over the Seaway Bridge off US 1. US 1 is 5 minutes east for an easy commute to work, or the I-95 or turnpike entrances are only 10 minutes away. Greenwood is a laid back neighborhood that welcomes pets, and most in this area are pet lovers. You'll be able to join in the nightly walks with other long time residents and their pets, just about every night.

I'm a true real estate EXPERT in this neighborhood because I've called it home for three years now!
