Writing for Comments?

Years ago on AR you would post and then watch on the dashboard which posts were read. On the right side there was the counter for comments.

Some would have 1 or 2 comments, and some had 6 and even more before they would fall from the dashboard into the oblivion.

I see the counter back, and there was a proud message about the changed dashboard. Well, bringing back the counter is hardly the biggest sign of progress. We had it and then it was stolen from us.

Highlighted stuff when you scroll wit your cursor is annoying. There is no need for it, it is one of those useless and unnecessary things

But back to comment counters. I checked the dashboard and out of 20 posts, only two had 1 comment each. Of course, this number is changing, but it seems we are not as active responding to the dashboard as we used to be.

So, if you want to get more than 1 or 2 comments, dashboard will not work for you. What works?

I believe the only way you can get more comments is by have members subscribe to you. Then your posts pop on their screen. And the only way to get more subscribers is to have more members like what you say.

AR is not an instrument for quick fix of your business.

It takes time and a lot of effort.

Actually, this is an excellent example in itself. I have two accounts on Active Rain. One as a company, and this one as agent (I assure you that this is absolutely legit).

The other one is my main account and that's where 99% of my activity is, and that's where I have 300 subscribers, and there I would usually get some comments and sometimes.

Here I do not have subscribers, and, as a result, not a single comment.

Jon, I don't subscribe to the comments most of the time, because I get so many email.  I would never be able to get any work done.  I know this is an older post but it seemed like a good time to catch up on some of my reading.
