Good morning, Mona.... I love this song.... Gladys Knight and the Pips did their version of this.... Smokey Robinson too.... now I'm going to have this playing in the background all day.... time to burn some incense!!!
Hi Mona,
I went to a CCR revival concert back in 2003 it was a really good show. it was at a cosino in the U.P. of Michigan.
Well worth the trip.
Thanks for the memories.
Have a great day and stay warm in Sylva.
Best, Clint McKie
Good morning Mona. I enjoyed this and the music was wonderful. I didn't attend these type of concerts. I was more a Philadelphia Orchestra type. I was there often and on the day Kennedy died too. Still I'm young yet and have seen a few at Tanglewood. Enjoy the day.
My mind immediately went to Gladys Knight and the Pips and then Marvin Gaye's version of this song. You know I'm a Motown guy.
Good Morning Mona, Great song to start the day out with. I can not believe the prices of tickets now compare to the 60's and 70's.
Great choice of song Mona. I'm sure the memory was worth the money you spent.
Hi Mona,
My first concert was Foreigner, back in 1981. Strange fact. Jean was also at that concert, but not with me. We wouldn't meet for another 20 years. But how interesting that we both attended that same concert. For the record, I've been to almost 500 concerts since then.
Creedence Clearwater was one of the most outstanding groups of the Vietnam Era. I am surprised they lived through it all since many anti war groups died some very strange deaths. Foreigner was also a great favorite. Thanks for the memories.
I know crazy isnt it! I remember not going to see my fav band in HS as the tickets were 20 and I couldnt justify it. Then I head of Van Halen or similar, maybe Eagles, (too long ago to remember) was charging 100 for tix and I thought who could buy one and today if the tix arent 100+ the show must be lame?????
WOW
our tickets were $4 & $5 in the 1970's I was in Michigan then. Aloha Jeff
I remember a high school friend of mine took me to see Jethro Tull. Now Jethro Tull was definitely not my cup of tea. But we had front row seats, so it was all good.
This is so much fun hearing about everyone's first concerts...thanks very much for brightening up a dreary and rainy winter day.
