The holidays bring a welcome slow down to our lives. We take well deserved breaks and spend time with family and friends. It is also a time to reflect on the year and focus upon success in 2014.
The slow calming effect of the holidays does not apply to real estate. The end of the calendar year is an optimum time to sell and purchase property. Investors want to get properties off of their books for the end of the end. Owner occupants want to be done with the sales process and enjoy the holidays. Buyers want to be in their new home for the holidays. Everyone is looking for a fresh start for 2014.
The busiest months for my team are December, February and August. We attribute our accelerated business in December and February to the holidays and the end of the year wrap up. August sales we attribute to families moving before the new school year.
If you are considering placing your property on the market, now is the time. This is particularly true of San Diego real estate. Our military relocate here throughout the year. Our retirees arrive as soon as their retirement allows. Given our fantastic weather we do not have a traditional sales season.
Some of the best holidays gifts are new keys and a view.
