I am not really sure if this restaurant is simply Mandarin or if is called The Mandarin, but for years it has been referred to as The Mandarin. The Mandarin is located in Bountiful. It is a little difficult to find in that there are no other restaurants near it. It offers, as the name implies, Chinese cuisine. This is a popular if somewhat upscale restaurant. I don't remember the first time I ate there, it was several years ago. If anything, age has improved it!
The Mandarin is an award winning restaurant, in fact Travel and Leisure Magazine named it one of the 25 best Chinese restaurants in the United States. When we went a few weeks back it was a normal Thursday night and the place was packed! So call ahead for reservations, especially on the weekends! The food was fantastic! If you are a fan of fried rice, ask for the house rice. It could be a meal, it is that good!
Darcy and I were happy with the portion sizes as we had left overs for lunch the next day. This is a little upscale, but it does set its self apart from the other very good Chinese restaurants that we have. I have to brag a little, as a fan of Chinese Food, I am really spoiled here in the South Davis County area, we have several wonderful Chinese Restaurants.
