Maryland Chrysanthemum

 

Brookside Gardens in Montgomery County, Maryland attracts visitors from all parts of the world to its location in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC.  I enjoy walks through the gardens and Dolores and I try to attend and photograph most of the flower shows and conservatory displays.

The annual chrysanthemum show is one of the best in the region and this photograph was taken at that 2013 fall event.  It is easy to set aside the problems of the moment as you focus your attention and your camera on a beautiful flower.

Roy, your photographs are stunningly beautiful.  They look as if they should appear on the pages of a coffee table book about horticulture.  I'm playing at getting better at photography and would love nothing better than to capture some of the beauty we see in our world every day.  Right now I have a Nikon D60 and want to upgrade to a D3200, understanding it is still an entry level DSLR but the reviews I've read on it from professional photographers gives me some hope.
