167 and counting

Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage 531132

That's the number of emails I've received today from companies hawking their wares for Black Friday, and the day isn't over yet. Add that to yesterday's local newspaper that was about 25 times bigger than normal...and this is certainly the year that marketers are out in force.

I get it, and it doesn't bother me, but this is the first year that the assault has been so big, especially the digital one. I've gotten emails from companies I haven't done business with in ten years. Those old email databases apparently still work after all this time.

I wish them luck, I really do. That being said, they're wasting their bandwidth trying to get me out on Black Friday.

Hi Richard - Same here!  Yesterday's paper was two plastic wrapped bundles.  One was all sales ads.  My email blew up the last 24 hours with spam, spam, spam - and plenty of sales crappola that the spam filter didn't get.  They are all after our wallets!

Fortunately I was spared most of the spam today and of course wasn't anywhere near a store. The only thing I bought today was a ticket to ride the Alpine Coaster in Breckenridge.

Rich, I am with you but I didn't count. I just hit delete over & over. Sometimes I don't even bother to look at email for hours because most of it is jump. Happy relaxing..

What got me was the people who sent 10.  Seriously, did you think if the first 9 didn't work #10 was going to get me to your store... NO

Richard, it is getting more and more excessive every year.  I only wish that the economy would generate more well paying jobs so that folks could go out and afford all the 'deals'.
