What kind of a Realtor should I hire to sell my home in Fort Pierce?

What kind of a Realtor should I hire to sell my home in Fort Pierce?  It's a good question. Let me try to answer it, with my 14 years of real estate experience, as the research behind my answer.

Over the years, I have worked in large franchise agencies with several hundred agents, and in small independent real estate offices with only one or two real estate sales people.  I've worked through the sellers boom years in the early 2000's through the tough, depressed sellers market of the last 7 years. I've watched really good agents leave the business, and also saw many thrive in a tough market. These agents were both in large companies and in small. Being in a large company is not the key to an agents success in selling your home, if they don't have the basic skills they need to be successful. And a small company can't guarantee your home will sell by its family "Big Name" alone!

Your Realtor should have discipline, persistence, creativity, high ethics, professionalism, courage, and empathy. Your choice for picking the right agent shouldn't be decided by the size of the company she works for, but should be determined by the individual agent and her professional habits and track record. You want an agent that listens and understands what your needs are. Pick the right person first - the company second!

All Realtors have at their access, for support: 1. Their Broker/Employer

                                                                  2. The multiple-listing syst.

                                                                      (mls)

                                                                  3. Local Realtors Assoc.

                                                                  4. Florida Realtors Assoc.

                                                                  5. National Realtors Assoc.

All agents start on a somewhat level playing field. It's mostly the choices real estate agents make that determine how successful they will be, and will be at marketing and selling your property. Don't make a choice based only on their company. Interview several agents from different local companies. Talk with new agents, as well as the "seasoned" ones.

If you are thinking about talking with a few Realtors/Brokers to decide who to list your home with, won't you give the Local,Fort Pierce real estate company-Morningstar Properties- with a Local Fort Pierce Broker/Realtor-Linda George- a call? I'll show you why I've been in business for 14 years, and you'll know the answer to your question- What kind of a Realtor should I hire to sell my home in Fort Pierce?

Linda, You are right about big box brokerages and choosing an agent that we can trust. Sometimes people hire the big box brand and that gets them not much of anything, really.  The perception is that it will. We know that it is the agent behind the brand that gets the job done.

Thanks Kathy for your support! You are correct about the big-box brands.  I guess this gives you an idea of the company that listed the FSBO home across the street from me..right? I feel like I am always battling this and its getting old.
