I Saw Kahuku High School Graduate Hau'oli Kikaha Sack WSU Quarterback

Congratulations to my alma mater the University of Washington Huskies for winning the 106th Apple Cup today. I watched defensive end #8 Hau'oli Kikaha sack the WSU quarterback. What amazed me even more is how he walked away with humility and did not brag or boast.

He is a graduate of Kahuku High School in Hawai'i where I'm from and an all-Pac-12 academic with an impressive 3.49 GPA. It is Polynesian pride epitomized. To watch him play like he did was amazing.

The UW Huskies beat WSU 27-17. Both teams are the pride of Washington and when either team plays I root for both of them.

Congratulations to my alma mater for winning 27-17. Amazing game to watch. It is due to all of the players both the Huskies and Cougars.

Lana: Highschool football is so important to Hawaii, everyone watches it locally because it doesn't have its own national team. Gives players a great start when they then get picked for mainland teams.

Lana, that had to be a lot of fun watching the game and seeing a player from your HS alma mater make a great play in a BIG college rivalry game!  Congratulations to Hau'oli for an outstanding play and his great accomplishments in the classroom at Washington University!  I was a high school assistant football coach for 17 years and it is great to know there are still great football players who are humble, and realize that football is just a great game and not life itself!

Thanks. I actually graduated from Kamehameha Schools but I support Kahuku High School which is a public school. It is amazing how much of a talent he is and very humble too. I am glad because many people were watching him play in the Apple Cup.

He represented football players well and represents Hawai'i well.
