Food shelves are in dire need.

One of the highest needs for the food shelves is right after a major Holiday.  And the short time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is even a harder time.

It is a short time to re-stock the shelves and between bad weather and the extra expenses for our own Holidays, we sometimes don't give like we usually do.

This year my wife and I have pledged to give what we normally do for this time of the year.

For us it just seams like the right thing to do.

You and your wife are good people to keep your pledge! Would it be wonderful if everyone could make some type of contribution, no matter how small.  When inventory is low at the local soup kitchens, they are forced to purchase at retail costs, which their budgets cannot withstand.  I volunteer at a soup kitchen on Thursdays, and we are beginning to see bare shelves again.  Those of us who have it good need to remember, empty shelves equal empty stomachs.

Hi William, there are more and more food pantries popping up all over in our area. We usually collect food items at the office and many of the organizations I belong to also have their food drives.
