Thanksgiving weekend has ended (hopefully you had a great one) and we have officially begun the Holiday season. One of the first things you may be thinking of doing (if you haven't already) is choosing the perfect tree. While some people prefer artificial Christmas trees, and many are very life like, if you long for that freshly cut pine smell you my be curious to see where you can pick your tree this holiday season.
This time of year it may seem like you can find precut trees outside every grocery store, Walmart, and even some gas stations. Many of these trees are sold to support local boy scouts, girl scouts, and other local groups; so if you don't have the time to make it out to a farm I would encourage you to support one of these causes.
If you are wanting to make a day out of choosing the perfect tree for your holiday center piece there are several of tree farms in Connecticut to choose from. If you have never been to a tree farm you may need some advice to find the perfect farm as farms very from what they offer and you should no what to expect to have the best experience possible! If you are looking to support a small local farm Belinsky Farm in Oxford has great prices on trees starting at $34.99 but be sure to call ahead as it is a small family run farm. One of the most popular large family farms in the area, Jones Family Farm in Shelton, also offers Christmas trees. Trees here also come with a free ornament and be sure to save time to browse their barnyard shop for unique gifts and decorations. If you are looking for the ultimate tree hunting expedience many farms offer hayrides, Santa appearances, and even petting zoos along with their trees. Cheshire Hollow Farm if one among many where you can choose your own tree and then visit with Santa and their animals!
If you are out and about in the Naugatuck Valley this weekend in search of that perfect tree please stop by one of our open houses at Pond Spring Village in Beacon Falls. If you are in the market a duplex style home we are an active 55 and over adult community.
