Brentwood Holiday Home Decorating Contest 2013

Do you decorate your home for the holidays?  Then join in the holiday spirit and enter the Brentwood Holiday Home Decorating Contest!  Decorated homes must register with the Recreation Department by December 13, 2013.  Judging will take place by selected city employees and/or officials on Monday, December 16.  One home in each ward will be awarded 1st place and have their family’s name included on a plaque in the Community Center lobby.  Call 963-8689 to register your home today!

Hi Shanna, That sounds like a great idea. The local newspaper use to do something like that about 50 years ago when newspapers were big.  It also owned the local TV station, so it helped with the publicity. It was real popular.

I know that the kids always love it- we used to pop a ton of popcorn and drive around and look at all of the decorations!

Michelle- I have been hing the website for the winners- they have not posted them- I bet they were really cool- I would have driven by them but the houses that entered were not announced either.

Joan- I wish they would have announced the houses that were participating!

Shanna, it would really be fun to see.  I always wonder if some people do a little too much( a la Clark Griswold in Christmas Vacation), or if decorations should be judged on taste and quality of how a space is decorated.

Bruce- I didn't see any set criteria on how they would be judging the contest- but I bet there were a lot of Griswalds in there!
