The public thinks we are still state of the art 1980

Even tho the public uses the internet to study the market and get in contact with us, they have a different idea of how we work.

Back in the 80's before I was a Realtor® I would just drop into an office and expect them to be waiting at their desk with the NEW book to show me. So much of the public still thinks that of us. The homes for sale or needing to be listed are out there. With internet, cell phones and Ipads, we are out working in the field.

We no longer are chained to our desk waiting for you to drop in at a whim. So many are irate when they find we aren't at our desk waiting. I would hate to see the day my Banker was not there waiting for me. Your Thoughts?

Rob - I started working from my home office about 10 years ago and have no intention of ever working out of the office again.

When I was first licensed an Idaho brokerage HAD to have an office in a highly visible commercial location. And of course, agents were expected to be in that office any time they weren't out with clients. Now I see companies that have NO formal office. Everyone works from home. What a difference from the "old days."

The way clients are always serching sites on their mobile apps, I would think they expect Realtors to be out and about as well.
