Pop The Color And Sell Your House

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Lizette Realty - Richmond KY 205403

People ask me all the time... "How's business?"

I guess they hear all the gloom and doom of a down market or agents that are having hard times and have found other work to do.

For me, it has been the best time ever.

Most of my sales come in the winter months. For some reason, the last few months of the year brings contracts and sales... then it depletes my inventory. Which is a good thing. Those sellers that listed with me earlier and held on... are now selling their homes. Yay!

So, I have to say, that NOW is the time to have your house on the market.

Most sellers think they should get their home ready after the first of the year and sell in the spring. Well... that throws you into all the competition. Who needs that?

If you put it on the market right now, you get serious buyers. They probably have no contingencies to sell a home first.

Some buyers may need to buy before Dec. 31 for tax reasons.

Or they may be starting a new job in January.

They also have more time to look at homes during the holidays since they are off work.

Why not take advantage of the holiday spirit? People are in a good mood and love seeing decorated homes.

Got your attention?

Then get started right now to get your home ready to list.

Color added to house

Check out how just adding a pop of color to the front door and/or shutters can give you enormous curb appeal.

This picture was taken from the street in a neighborhood full of beautiful homes, but it was a standout because of the artfully placed paint.

This is what sells your home fast. People want to see if the inside looks as good.

Inside, deep clean everything and box up junk and extra things you don't need form the house and closets.

Get ready to move out. Believe me, your house will sell.

Buyers buy houses from serious sellers working to make the house show well...PERIOD!

The ones that sellers don't stage, clean or paint linger on the market and expire. It shows lack of effort and buyers take notice.

Many times, when I show homes to buyers, they notice that it really needs to be cleaned. How easy would that be to do? It's not even expensive! Buyers have been touring brand new houses to compare. New and clean will win over old and dirty. Get busy and clean!

When I list homes, I want to work hand and hand with the seller in preparing the house. There's no reason to wait for spring.

Call me now and let's get your house SOLD!

"I listen for a living." It's all about you.

I have had more than one publication suggest that changing the front door is the single best return on investment when selling.  That being said, I would have a difficult time with the house you show.  The colors are a bit too much pop and do not match, that would be a problem. It does pop. Thanks for the post.

I like this Pop Of Color! It adds life to the house. Lets get the buyers to the curb, then we'll sell the inside.

Good for you, Lisette. We're seeing a lot of activity right now. It may be true that a lot of buyers need to be settled into a school district before school starts, but there are plenty of buyers still out there who need to close during the later months. We bought our first home in New York in the dead of January under a foot of snow! We never even saw the yard until it melted in the spring! Buyers can be found anytime with the right marketing and the right pricing.

Good post! Timing is everything. Market may be flooded with houses for sale during spring time and people rush to sell during other times of the year to ensure profits will be taxed at the proper times. Nice information.
