Took a break from the craziness of the real estate world this past weekend and took a trip down to Parrot Jungle Island in Miami with the kids and another family.
The drive in was cool as all of the cruise ships were in port waiting for the current load of passengers to board. One of them , the Liberty of the Seas, was so big I couldn't believe it. Seeing it in person was far different from seeing it on TV. I can't imagine how this thing even floats. I further can't wait until the time I am looking at the cars watching me from the deck of that boat.
I thought that seeing really big things was dome for the day. I couldn't have been more wrong.
Inside Jungle Island was something called the Crocosaurus. It is the largest crocodile in captivity and easily the biggest croc or alligator I have ever seen either in person or on TV. I think its like 20 ft long and over 2000 pounds. We were fortuate enough to be watching when they decided to move this thing from one side of the holding pen to the other. This required it to move through a smallish door that would shut behind it.
Some crazy guy named Joe, a crocidile hunter type, spends about 20 minutes trying to get a lasso around this things head. Each time he came close the crock would begin to thrash and roll. Very impessive. When he is finally successful, 10 other park employess emerge from nowhere and grab hold of the rope and pull this thing through the door.
WOW.
If anyone has an opportunity to check this out, its worth the high price of admission the the Jungle Island to see it.

P.S.
It still amazes me to see all of the construction cranes on the Miami Skyline. It is a powerful reminder of the trouble we still face hear in south florida real estate.
