December is upon us~~that month of the year which never has enough hours in the day or days in the week. I think we do this over programming and over scheduling to ourselves. We have way too high of expectations for a time span of thirty one days. I am going to, once again, get on my verbal “soap box” and preach about stopping to smell the roses. Or in the case of this month, the pine boughs. When I look over past December Ramblings, I seem to travel down this same road every time. Maybe I am the one who is the slow learner here.
In defense of myself, I must say with extreme conceit that I did what I set out to do last month. Yep, thirty little scraps of paper stuffed into a large envelope and each one dated and containing that one small blessing that made enough impact on my soul that I committed it to paper and pen. I just read them all~~they were simple and sweet and made me smile.
Now, in this month of rampant commercialism, I hope I can continue to find the simple and sweet happenings in each of these thirty one days. I look forward to decorating our tree, watching sappy Hallmark Christmas Movies, singing Christmas songs off key, receiving and sending Christmas cards, and eating all those decadent treats that appear at this time of year.
My wish is that you share the joy of this month with those you love and that you find many sweet and simple moments along the way. Happy Christmas to all~~
