"A day that will live in infamy" December 7th, 1941

So today is Pearl Harbor day; a day to always remember. December 7th, 1941 was the 9/11 of it's day for our fathers and marked the entrance of the United States into World War II.

"72 years ago today, Portsmouth NH residents heard a news flash on the radio that the Japanese were attacking our Navel base at Pearl Harbor. That marked the U.S. entrance into World War II. The story below is reposted again with permission from a good friend of mine, Saul Klein, whose father was actually at Pearl Harbor during the attack. Mr. Klein was a young sailor at the time and say down many years later with his son Saul and told him the whole story of what he saw and did on that December day that according to then President Roosevelt was “a day of infamy.”.

Reposted from an earlier blog. Today is December 7th, 2011. 70 years ago at this time Japan was attacking our American Naval Base at Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Following is a recollection of that day’s events from a then young sailor that was actually there during the attack. Used with permission of good friend and fellow Realtor Saul Klein, the son of this sailor.

Read his riveting story here.

Jim- I hope we never forget this day and have to wonder how many of our youth know about Pearl Harbor.

We were all fairly young in 1941 Ronald; I wasn't even born then. However we all need to make sure the events of that day are never forgotten in this country. Sadly you would be hard pressed to find very many young people today that even know what that meant.
