Coaching is in my blood.
My father was an instructor in the military. My mom was a swimming coach and a teacher. My brother is a division 1 college coach. My other brothers coached high school. My sisters both coached singing and directed plays.
Like I said, it's in my blood.
Over the last year or so, I decided to not only sell real estate in Fort Wayne, but to "coach" a few new agents.
I now have half a head full of gray hair, but at least I have hair.
It was a lot of fun to take on the challenge of training these newbies.
At least it was at first. :)
A few of the agents thought that selling real estate was going to be easy. They said it was going to be a "piece of cake."
Boy were they wrong.
They thought that all you had to do was to get people to like them. That's how they perceived it by watching me in real life and on social media.
"Hey, people like you so they work with you" is what I was told.
HA! If it were only that easy...
Then there were the other agents that actually got it. They knew that lead generation was only a part of being a successful real estate agent.
They knew that they had to live it and breathe it to succeed.
They knew that they had to submerse themselves into it almost 24/7 in the beginning, and they did.
Sure, they had some problems that I helped them fix. They had their ups and downs. They spun their wheels. They made a few mistakes. They even called me in tears a few times.
But they made it.
They gave it their all and they made it.
Sitting at the Christmas party the other night watching them dance, have fun, and enjoy what they built is all the thanks that I need.
You get out of real estate what you put into real estate. It's that simple.
