Snow, Ice Report for Lovettsville, VA, December 9, 2013.
The snow started yesterday afternoon about 3:00 p.m. It was coming down quite hard, but faded as the day went on.
I've been in the "get ready for winter mode" for about a month. I've got a good load of firewood (yes, I cleaned out the firebox of old ashes), Friday, I accumulated plenty of food and treats in case someone dropped by. I leave my garage door open in ice/snow storms in case the electricity goes out. Thankfully it didn't.
Hurray, someone did drop by. Fernanco Hermoso dropped by Saturday and we had a wonderful long chat. HA! Our visit was so good and at such a high real estate level, I should've registered it as an ActiveRain Meet-Up. Oh Well.
So, this a.m. once daylight came the scene below greeted me.
I'm not thrilled with such a severe snow/ice storm this early in the season.
Goodness, what's going to happen when winter comes.
