Park City is Open for Business: Skiers and Snowboarders are Welcome

Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway

We’ve been praying for snow in Park City, and winter is finally here. It looks like our wishes have paid off, as all three ski resorts (Park City Mountain Resort, Canyons Ski Resort, and Deer Valley) are open for skiing snowboarding tubing, or bobsledding.

December is the month for skiing, and all three resorts are gearing up for the cold season.

All three resorts have plenty of snow. Park City has a 26” snow base, Deer Valley boasts 19” of snow, and Canyons Resort has 20” as well.  Deer Valley locals are delighted about the new snow, as the resort kicks of its annual Celebrity Skifest race. Maybe you’ll see your television or movie star if you decide to attend.

The weather is going to be cold for the weekend, as you might expect. The weatherman in Utah said to expect Arctic-weather, as the temperature plummets down to -22 o F. at Canyons. If you can’t stand the cold, you can always head up to Park City or Deer Valley where the temperatures will stay in the teens over the weekend. The partly cloudy skies may warm things up a bit, but it’s still a good idea to break out the Gortex in order to stay warm.

Speaking of skiing, Canyons now has 5 open trails, 5 open lifts, and 5 groomed runs. Park City Mountain Resort boasts 19 open runs, 5 open ski lifts, and 12 groomed runs. The numbers aren’t in yet for Deer Valley, but the resort is open this weekend as they host the annual Celebrity Skifest.

December is the month to celebrate the holidays in Park City, as Santa will appear on the Town Lift on December 14, and the 50th Annual Torchlight Parade is on December 24.

Park City, Deer Valley, and Canyons Resorts offer plenty of fun activities for you and your family. Gorgoza Park is open for tubing enthusiasts. The Alpine Coaster and Flying Eagle Zip Rider are also open from noon to 4:00 p.m. each day.

Whether you like to ski, snowboard, tube, or celebrate, now is the time, and Park City is the place.
