The walls decided to take a walk. Desert Sun Home Inspections Carlsbad, New Mexico.
I have seen a couple of these homes in the past. They are not very fun to do an inspection on.
I dislike inspecting a home that has these issues with the interior walls.
Very interesting when it comes down to finding the root of the trouble.
This home was built in 2009, local builder. A 3-2 1,500 SQFT Home.
Why would the walls decide to take a walk? That is the biggest question of all with this home.
The walls in the hallway by the master bath were raising. Also a little raising by the front entry but only on the interior walls. the exterior walls were where they were supposed to be.
At first glance it looks like the normal home.
But as a home inspector that loves his job, I really inspected this home like many others. "Really well".
After all the buyer is paying me to do the best job of inspecting the home I can.
Take a look at the way the wall was when I inspected this home.
You can clearly see the wall has raised off the floor.
This is making the interior doors in operable and out of square. The interior wall damage is confined to the interior of the master bath. Only one side of the walls sheet rock was cracked. Interesting I thought.
This was the only sheet rock damage to the master baths walls. Nothing else not even cracks in the corners of the room.
Here is a really good look at how much the wall has raised.
This wall had raised about three quarters of an inch. That is a lot when the wall was not to move in the first place.
A strucural engineer has been summoned to the home for further investigation.
If any Home inspectors out there think they have an answer for the wall movement your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
This is why you always get a "Home Inspection" by a certified inspector. For the peace of mind.
