Goodness me more food trivia facts

Goodness me!

This is a continuation of my series of things most people don’t know about our food supply.

According to my research these are items, things etc the FDA allows in our food supply.  You may check it out yourselves to verification.

Fruit flies love their tomato sauce so much they lay their eggs in it.  Your FSA as it limits however, they only allow no more than 15 or more fruit fly eggs and one or more maggots per 100 grams of sauce.  Sounds good doesn’t it?

Now go out and tell the world of your new found knowledge.  Smile it will make people wonder what you’ve been up to.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.  Click on the link below.  Who knows you may learn something along the way and some of the words may even bring a smile to your face.   Wise Custom Realty is looking for a national recruiter.  Call me for details.

Hi James,

I bet if people knew what was really in the so called home grown and canned fruits and veggies they would never eat the stuff.

Have a great day in Rogers my friend.

Best, Clint McKie

James - I think that we would not eat half of what we eat if we only knew.  I guess ignorance is bliss.

James, Donald made me laugh--I dunno if these are the bits of trivia that we can handle on a regular basis, unless we're planning on a "cleanse"...or fasting!

But, then other cultures choose some pretty nasty things to eat as delicacies...to each their own.

Good afternoon James,

Who counts the eggs; I generally have two with my homefries and ketchup and will not let the better half see this as she will say only one egg.

Make yourself a great day.

This is a reason to grow your own tomatoes and do your own canning. I guess the government has to deal with the necessary of 2 evils -- those of the demanding consumer versus the big bucks corporate conglomerates who can't / won't / don't care to keep insects and maggots out of our food. I gripe about this but I am not about to pluck a tomato worm with my bare hands. No sirree.

More opinions than you want to hear about.

Rather find a maggot than a half-maggot.  I'm guessing that the fruit fly eggs are present on the tomato skins when picked.  Also guessing that the fifteen limit is probably never monitored -- only a guess.
