It feels like being a "double agent" is the best and most challenging experience I have had so far selling houses. Negotiating the best deal and explaning the terms for both seller and buyer to a point where we have a "win-win",,, Love It!
After just over 60 days on the market with more than five offers, one of which fell through before closing, we are finally heading to the closing table in just over a week from today. Here's the thing. This is a first time home buyer who obviously knows little and understands less of what all these numbers and percentages mean. Almost everyday since her offer of full asking price was accepted, we have been on the phone for at least 20 minutes each time. Apparantly she is growing frustrated with her mortgage company because, after each conversation with them, she ends up calling me for clarification. Of course I find this delightful because of all the "thank you soooo much Matt", " I feel a lot better now" I receive during and at the end of each call.
Well, Let me ask this question. How far would you go to close that deal? This week I find myself having to hire a cleaning company because one of the homes I'm marketing had a very strong animal odor of which the buyers found disturbing and wanted the odor removed as part of the terms of the contract. WOW! Anything for the sale, right?
My thing is, I will always do my absolute best for ALL of my customers, (within reason of course).
