NAR Has Come to Its Senses: Agent Match is OUT!!!!!
While it did not take long for NAR to rescind the much debated AgentMatch, it still took longer than it should have.
An article on Realtor Online magazine, stated that NAR admitted that using algorithms to match consumers with agents was a misguided effort at best. They also admitted that the data used could easily me skewed and misunderstood by consumers and unfairly shed an unfavorable light on productive, as well as less productive agents.
I read a lot of anti-NAR post on ActiveRain and I haven't always agreed with but not once had I ever considered jumping on the anti-NAR bandwagon. However, with AgentMatch, I must admit that for the first time EVER, I felt that it might have been time for me to withdraw from NAR membership (had NAR moved forward with AgentMatch). Afterall, NAR is supposed to represent all of it's members, not just a select few.
So for now, I guess I'll hang on in there, but I'll be watching NAR a lot more carefully from now on.
