The 52nd Annual Kemah Boat Lane Parade will be held this Saturday (December 14th) at 6:00pm! This event is a local favorite so you should add it to your calendar if you haven't had the opportunity to experience it yet. Boat owners decorate their boats with Christmas light displays that are amazing and some even have coordinated light shows. There is something special about watching these boats with their reflection over the water. A truly unique experience. Some toss treats from the deck to the Kemah Boardwalk area.
The parade reaches the Kemah Boardwalk area at about 7:00pm. This annual event brings tons of visitors (around 100,000) so get your spot early so you don't miss the fun! It is really crowded, but worth a wait. The decorations are really incredible with some owners creating floating works of art!
Attendance is free, but be prepared to pay to park unless you are ready to walk a long distance. Better yet, get there very early and enjoy supper at one of the restaurants on or near the boardwalk! I recommend Crazy Alan's Swamp Shack located just below the Kemah bridge at the entrance to the Kemah Lighthouse District. Great Cajun food!
