This is going to be a 3 part blog and a webinar so stay tuned
Right after I got out of the Marines as a Scout/Sniper Instructor at Quantico, Virginia, I moved to Las Vegas to become a Police Officer, I literally started the academy before 9/11 and on 9/11 we just started our firearms training. I remember being told that we were being deputized early because of the attacks.
During my ensuing police training, we were taught the awesome art of "Verbal Judo", think of it as the "presence of words." At first I thought it was something really cheesy and corny right!!!!! Boy was I wrong. As Police officers and now as Real Estate agents what's the one thing we do everyday? We interact with people with verbal and non-verbal cues in the course of our daily business right!
We have to quickly get to the root of "what is this person doing and what do they want? For me the art of the deal begins with being told "NO", most people shut down and perhaps try a few questions to get past that, but quickly accept that answer as being final. Get out of that mindset and begin your verbal judo training.
Verbal Judo is the principle of Judo itself: using the energy of others to master the situation. Take a look at this video, or buy the book, and stay tuned for the upcoming blogs that will teach you this awesome tool, and a featured webinar that the great staff at ActiveRain will host with me. All these tools will increase your sales and help you master the art of getting past "NO".
