What to Expect in a Gated Community in Palm Beach Gardens
It's no secret that Palm Beach Gardens Florida is full of gated communities, country club communities and waterfront homes. This part of Southeast Florida is one of the most affluent and beautiful places to live in all of the country, but of course, that's my personal opinion.
In addition to country club and open communities there are also gated communities throughout Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter Florida. These include neighborhoods such as The Cove, Evergrene, Mirabella and PGA National. What sets these gated communities apart? The security and peace of mind that a gated neighborhood provides. I get a lot of questions as a real estate agent for Palm Beach Gardens and gated communities in general, on the benefits or pros and con's to living in a gated community.
One of the best features about a gated community is the security and peace of mind. Nobody that is unauthorized to be in that community will be driving the neighborhood, walking the pathways, or knocking on your door. You won't have irritating salespeople trying to get you to buy the latest magazine subscription. But, that also means you may miss out on some great Girl Scout cookies. Of course, everyone that owns property with any gated community will have access to that neighborhood as well as anyone they authorize. So, even though you can be as careful and secure as possible, there are the drawbacks of not knowing who else will allow into the gated community. There are regulations and a general sense of understanding that the security of the community will not be compromised.
Some buyers and sellers asked how they will buy or sell property within a gated community. Most communities such as San Michele and Mairners Cove will have keypads or codes to allow access to the community. When a home is listed, that code is typically given to the real estate agent showing the property. The listing agent may also be available for appointments especially if the homeowner feels more comfortable having their listing agent present when a buyer is touring the home.
One drawback is that buyers cannot simply drive around the neighborhood looking at homes and it can make open houses a little bit more tricky. However, those that are interested in homes in gated communities find security and comfort knowing that there is a process to getting to the home.
