Dickens of a Christmas in Franklin TN December 14-15, 2013 is one of the many festivals that take place in the historic downtown. This festival will bring thousands of visitors into town to enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas.
There will be more than 250 Victorian era costumed characters such as Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Tiny Tiny, Bob Cratchit and Father Time. They look as though they just leaped off the pages of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.
This will be the 29th year this free street festival will be gracing the streets of our fair city.
Festivities run Satuday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, December 15 from noon to 5 p.m.
There will also be horse-drawn carriage rides in the square, an arts and crafts bazaar, dancers and street musicians; including hand bell choirs, harpists, carolers and violinists. Even the food vendor will provide Victorian treats. Who doesn't like fish 'n chips, turkey legs, roasted chestnuts, sausages and sugar plums?
At 5 p.m. on Sunday there will be a Town Sing in the square. I can't think of a better way to end the Dickens of a Christmas in Franklin TN for 2013.
Don't be a Scrooge and come out for the festivities.
