Rebbeca~ the more information we receive from potential client, the better we serve, and I hope "buyers & sellers" know that you are the go-to Realtor in and around Santa Clara County.... 

It is hard to help people if they won't get us their information or how to contact them. A little trust is in order.

I am working with a client who is "a man of few words." I know him pretty well now but it is still hard to get him to open up an communicate. He has bought a lot here in our town and is having a home built. He has a home to sell in another state and we are all challenged with the timing on his contracts. He has not told his Seller's agent in the other state that he is building a new home here. He is NOT getting good advice from his Seller's agent because he has not told him the whole story.

My close-mouthed client is likely to suffer a big price increase on his new build because he is not communicating effectively.

Rebecca, excellent post! I understand that there is a lot of spam out there in the Internet (we are all consumers in one way or another) but we aren't magicians. If you entrust us with your information, that's a vote of confidence and a guarantee that we will help you as best we can. Consumers need to realize we are not all the same, nor are we telemarketers but someone has to make the first move. If they give us a shot, they'll see we mean business.

Rebecca: Very frustrating when buyers contact us, yet dance around on giving us information. Way too often I am asked to make searches for someone who has never even been to the area. Doesn't even really know where on the map it is. Until I have a conversation with them to establish what their goal is, what time frame we are talking about, and what their budget is, I just can't get involved. Great post.
