Homesinyourtown.com, a website aggregator of local consumer generated content, specific to Towns and Cities across North America, announced today its plans to build out its proprietary URL: TownAdvisor.com.
TownAdvisor.com will be developed as an über-site that will function as both a standalone site and a complementary portal linking to its network of HomesIn.com and HomesInYourTown.com City and Town-specific sites.
Larry Vecchio, Founder of HomesInYourTown.com and HomesIn.com (its subsidiary website), in making the announcement, expressed, "There is increasing evidence that the highest utility of the web – for millions of consumers – is to possess the ability to gain consumer relevant information and knowledge from their fellow consumers.
Iconic, consumer-centric sites like Yelp.com and TripAdvisor.com unsurprisingly inspired our company to build both our existing HomesIn.com site through user content...as well as our strategic decision to acquire TownAdvisor.com."
TripAdvisor.com is a site dedicated to travel related content. Yelp.com relates to a wide range of the service sector and promotes their site as featuring ‘Real People…Real Reviews.’
Vecchio enthused that, "Our sites, Homesin.com and TownAdvisor.com, will feature notable sections that will enable consumers to intuitively generate content in the form of text, photos and video."
Allan Dalton, President of Homesinyourtown.com and Partner in TownAdvisor.com, explained that the consumer participatory areas on our sites will include: ‘Neighbors Know Best℠’, ‘Children Know Best℠’, ‘Real Residents…Real Recommendations℠’ and ‘HIYTV℠’ – HomesInYourTownVideos.com.
Dalton also stated that, "…unlike other sites that principally rely upon only one or several embedded local citizen journalists, our sites will represent the sounds and suggestions from the broader and more authentic perspective of many voices."
Such community based commentary will be facilitated and inspired through the efforts of a network of carefully selected Real Estate Town Advocates℠.
A Real Estate Town Advocate’s℠ primary responsibility will be to specifically stimulate consumer content from a Real Estate and overall perspective of local residents.
Vecchio proclaimed, "Given that large segments of consumers will regularly visit Yelp and TripAdvisor.com to either post or peruse information and suggestions regarding their dinner or hotel room related decision, imagine how much more important it is to learn from other consumers what it is like living or working in a particular neighborhood, town or city…from those who know the most, the residents themselves!"
TownAdvisor.com’s business model will make it possible for consumers to visit its major site...which will serve as a portal that will link to community specific sites.
