As of 2012, the population was 648,295, which is about 10% of the population of Tennessee as a whole. Davidson County expects to see much growth over the next decades. The total population is projected to reach 764,142 by 2030.
Davidson County is projected to see growth in areas other than population as well. The county has recently experienced a job growth of 1.74%, and job growth over the next ten years is predicted to be 36.18%. Along with population and job growth comes expansion in the real estate market. After a nationwide down market, Davidson County is recovering, with home appreciation over the last year at around .40 percent.
There has been much focus on the revival of certain neighborhoods that have experienced slumps over the past few years, which naturally brings economic and population growth to those areas.
