A Homebuyers Guide to Home Insurance

The costs in doing all these updates seem astronmical for the small return in lower premiums; however, in doing them to avoid the damage that would come from fires, flood, or major theft...I'd say that would make it worth it! Do they still give reduced rates for having a fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector in the home? Those were simple ones I used to remember being an advantage. Also, a former neighbor once told me to get one of those security system signs for my yard, even if I didn't have the system. Many times, just the sign is enough to deter a criminal.
