Google+ [or Google Plus]

I love G+ for it's great curated contents, images and videos. As a novice user, I was recently offered a custom URL by Google+  to plus.google.com/+AnneLok which makes the URL much easier to share. To qualify, your G+ account must be 30 days old, with at least 10 followers and a completed profile preferrably with a link to your website. 2014 will include building followers, and communities, posting meaningful content, and brushing up on my photography skills. For inspiration on industry and interesting topics to post, I reference Alltop.com.

I like G+ as it's an intelligent platform and the way it lets the author curate and tell/retell the story. The more features you play with, the more surprises you will find.

The feature under "Communities" of special interest groups may require permission to join to keep spammers out. If you share similar interests, please join me in some of following groups:

Real Estate Community offers a huge resource for real estate agents on professional practice and industry related articles on tools, tips and marketing.

Youtube

This month, I started two Youtube channels. [Yes, something I defered for too long as part of the tools for my marketing.] One for my real estate team, Regent Park Life, specializing in a local neighbourhood, and another for my niche market in Modern Toronto Real Estate. Commenting on Youtube can only be enabled with a google account. It's one of the recent changes if you are not a frequent video blogger.  Google+ users will notice that there is already a Youtube tab integrated under your profile page which link to your Youtube channel of videos shared publicly. This definitely makes Gootubing easier.

Pinterest

I like Pinterest on finding fun cool stuff and compelling images for interior decorating, home improvement ideas, architecture, industrial design, and last but not least...food. It's also easy to create a reciprocal relationship with Google+ and Youtube, so I don't have to repost everything twice, and it will stay on the board longer.  If you are pinning videos, your visitor can watch all your videos on your pinboard without leaving the website.

I also like to use Pinterest as a pimping tool, to understand the profile of my clients if they already have an existing Pinterest account to see what type of stuff they pin before I meet a prospect. A lot of times buyers who are thinking about buying their next home starts to pin images on home improvement and interior design ideas. If your prospect have a pinterest account, there is a big chance they may already be on Google+ and connect with them on both sites. The home decor related boards are one of the most popular categories according to Mashable.

Thanks for dropping by Li. I never really maximized these platforms other than Twitter and Facebook. This will be an interesting shift.

Anne, I really like Google+ for many of the same reasons you cite.  Pinterestseems a natural fit for real estate, much better than, say, Twitter (which I don't use anymore), and I plan to jump into Pinterest in 2014 and test the waters.

Kaye- I do find it's easier for me to "find their language" and custom my service to the particular client if I do learn something about them from their pinterest or G+ posts. Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of media streams to feed, weed, water. Video is the most misunderstood marketing child that is neglected in the arsenal of media to harness and rocket your exposure.
