This Saturday @ 10:00 is when it is all supposed to start. Actually it started last Thursday when Berna, my better half, informed me that the Easter Bunny wasn't sure how I was going to fit 7000 plastic Easter Eggs, candy and assorted prizes in my car to transport to Deseret Peaks. I don't know what happened to his Rein-bunnies this year, or the Easter Bunny helpers, but I knew better than to argue with what is known around our house in late March every year as the "2 Bs". ( Berna, & Bunny). It will get done.
The truth is, I'll enjoy it a lot. .... It's Tooele tradition.
Thirty seconds of absolute mayhem. All the kids in Tooele that have tipped over my trash can, or made me sit in the hot sun for the 4th of July parade will be pitted against each other, to see who can find and hold onto the most Easter Eggs. No Rules, no code of conduct, no favorites here. Just raw, unbridled enthusiasm, and greed. (why any 5 yr old would break out in tears because they could only hold 6 eggs, a plastic chicken, a balloon, and 3 cupcakes in one 5yr old hand, I'll never know.
Two thousand screaming kids, 7000 eggs, candy by the ton and at least that many out of control parents lead me to believe that the Easter Bunny is a masochist, and he (or she) is just using the Tooele Chamber of Commerce, with a big assist from the Tooele Youth Council to perpetuate professional wrestling for 8 year olds, thus making Easter a "contact sport".

It all starts Saturday at 10:00 @ Deseret Peaks, and while the dangerous stuff will end about 32 seconds later, you can stick around for games and some wonderful prizes donated by very generous local merchants.
Folks, don't miss it. Its a traditional Tooele small town Easter celebration. It's why I live here, and why I encourage families to move here. It's GREAT FUN !!!
P.S. Saturday morning is NOT the time to show off your kids new Easter outfit.
