Welcome to Tee'd Off Tuesday. Typically when I list a new home I put out an abundance of marketing material but noticed I'm not generating many phone calls. With my latest listing at 33 Fairlawn Drive in North Haven, CT 06473 I decided not to publish the address as an experiment to see if phone activity increased.
Well, two days after entering the information into our MLS system and making sure I checked "N" so the address would not published by others I see a few sites are giving away the home address of my listing. After a bit of investigation I'm not sure where to place the fault. Seems the culpret is not the MLS feed but Postlets.com which must have supplied the address to truila.com & Real Estate Shows that is credited with having the property listed at oodle.com
Since my wife is the one that spends her time on Postlets & RSS she may have unknowingly allowed permission to publish the address so at this point I'll just caulk it up to a failed experiment. Suppose it doesn't really matter if we freely give away the house address anyway..... It isn't really all that difficult to figure out from the map realtor.com provides.
