When Football Coach Bobby Bowden arrived in Tallahassee, Florida State University was a small state school in a small Southern town. Most people had never heard of FSU.
Bobby Bowden, and the FSU Seminoles Football Team, put our town on the map. Florida State has become a leading Institution that is nationally recognized in Science, Medicine, Law, the Arts, and more.
If you ask anyone at FSU "who made Florida State University what it is today?", they will say Coach Bowden.
The exposure that University of Buffalo gets through its Bowl can far exceed "Football"!
And if you remember Craig, that the Bulls haven't even been in Division 1 football for that long. So for UB to have 2 bowl games under it's belt already is really awesome for the University and our area!
Sad part about just about any sport today is that it is all about money. Even on the college level. My daughter goes to Auburn University. Yes the school will earn lots of money from the BCS Championship. The part I look at is the great environment she has been in since freshmen year. Hopefully the same at Buffalo.
