Speechless Sunday: Marietta National Cemetery at Christmas

Marietta National Cemetary

I took this picture on a cold day in the historic Marietta National Cemetary (in Georgia) when I was the only one in the cemetery.  The Marietta National Cemetery was established in 1866 to provide a suitable resting place for the nearly 10,000 Union dead from Sherman's Atlanta Campaign and includes veterans from many other wars. There was a peace and quiet that moved me.

That is very solemn and also warms the heart to see all the wreaths.

Hi Bob - Thats a very nice photo. Thank you for sharing. I went to see the Plant City Photo Archive today as they are having an exhibit on veterans, but they are closed Sundays...will head back tomorrow.
