Christmas is just a few days away and it seems everyone is in the Holiday spirit. Hopefully the majority of your shopping is done and you have time set aside to spend with family and friends. Of course the children in your life are probably the most excited of all waiting to see what wishes will come true this Christmas. If you have grandkids you may be trying to come up with cool and fun things to do with your grankids this season. Making memories that will last a lifetime does take a little thought and effort but you'll be suprised and how simple some of these crafts and activiies are!
A great outdoor idea is decorating a tree in your yard with eddible ornaments made for birds. Pick a nice warmer day for the grandkids to hang the ornaments on a tree which is visible from a winodow in your home and your grandkids are sure to enjoy wathing the birds feed on Christmas and for weeks to come. A fun Indoor craft is making paper snow flakes. This is a great activity for a snowday and is much more entertaining than watching T.V.! Another great indoor idea is making gingerbread houses. This is a fun idea for grandkids to do after Christmas dinner. "Prefab" gingerbread houses can be found at most grocery stores and Walmarts so don't worry about baking your own! Of course if you want to make yours from scratch your grandkids would be more than happy to help with the baking!
There are other ways to celebrate Chrismtas with grandkids even if they are out of state or even out of country! Why not read them a story with a recordable book this Christmas? Your grandkids will love hearing your voice read them their favorite Chrismtas story! Start a tradition by sending them a new pair of Holidy pajamas they can wear on Christmas Eve. Why not bake some homemade Christmas cookies or fudge for your grandkids this Christmas. Even if you cannot be with them you can still spoil them with some homemade holdiay treats.
