I do enjoy the Christmas season.
The best part is seeing the family that you only get to see once in awhile.
Seeing old friends around while shopping.
But, the planning gets to be overwhelming at times.
This year we are about 2 weeks behind schedule.
So, much of our decor is staying in boxes.
But there is a bright side to that...Less to put away for next year.
We have simplied our holidays as well as our belongings; really lets us enjoy ourselves and others more.
The "Reason for the Season" gets lost when Christmas becomes a financial, social, and physical burden.
I agree with Fred what would happen if no one got a gift and everyone just celebrated the reason for the season
I will be glad when we get to next month! I enjoy the holiday and the time with family. The madness of people running from store to store to buy stuff is what bothers me!
It can be a lot of work but the smiles on the kiddie's faces are all worth it.
Now that our family has gotten so much smaller, I miss the hub-bub of having a house full... A lot of work, but it was fun.
Bill, I find a big group can be fun, but you don't get to talk to everyone. I prefer a smaller one also. And yes...it is over!
