Trivia number 74

I want this to be information one just usually doesn’t hear.  If you have I would like to know if you haven’t all the better you’ve learned something today.  With that being said here is the information for you to consider today.

The original Winnie the Pooh was a real live bear found outside of Winnipeg, Canada, hence the name Winnie.  Francis Bacon died in his attempt to find a better way to serve food. He caught a case of pneumonia while attempting to stuff a chicken with snow. Ironically, the chicken survived the ordeal.

Now go out and tell the world of your new found knowledge.  Smile it will make people wonder what you’ve been up to.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.  Click on the link below.  Who knows you may learn something along the way and some of the words may even bring a smile to your face.

Now, see, you made me look this up and now I have to challenge you to a dual. The bear in question was a black bear and its name was Winnie and it lived at the London Zoo, and the author's son named his own bear Winnie after that particular bear. Merry Christmas, James!

I love Winnie the Pooh. It is so interesting to know that he was named after Winnepeg. I will have to look him up to learn more - if he was tame, etc.
